Pokken Tournament

We are analyzing today Pokken Tournament, a fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment and published by The Pokemon Company, for Wii U.
pokken-tournament_bp8xPokken Tounament is a fighting game that combines elements from Bandai Namco`s Tekken series with characters from Pokemon franchise. In the game two fighters will fight against each other using various Pokemon, but unlike most arcade games, which use a traditional joystick and buttons, the arcade version is played with console controllers, which are designed so the players that are not used to arcade sticks can get used to the game easier. Unlike other games, this one is one focuses more on action opposed to a more technical game-play.
There are a lot of things to like in Pokken Tournament, but the most immediate good feeling comes from something simple: two Pokemon physically interacting. It is a delight to watch Nintendo`s iconic Pokemon unshackled, free to move around and fight each other. The developers achieved that by splitting battles in two phases, the Field Phase where players use ranged attacks to fight the enemy from distance, doing enough damage or landing specific attacks in this phase will move the battle into Duel Phase. The dynamics in the Duel Phase are easy to get comfortable with and follows a known pattern: light attacks are quicker than heavy ones but do less damage, while each attack type is vulnerable to a counter-attack of some sort.
pikatornapokeTalking about game modes, beside a single player mode, the game will also feature a multiplayer mode. Everything taken into consideration the game looks deep and it will take many matches to master even one single Pokemon in battle and even if the game looks kid friendly, it is so much more than that, an absolutely serious game that will offer something new to fighting game fanatics as well as any new comers that want to give it a try, so everyone is invited to try it, I don’t think anyone would be disappointed.
